Tanzania's High Court struck out a KSh 25.31B ($195M) damages claim by Pula Group against Patrice Motsepe, African Rainbow Minerals and two related companies, in a ruling dated 9 October. The grounds for the latest ruling have not been published, and an earlier August strike-out turned on Pula's failure to join Evolution Energy Minerals, so the merits of the dispute appear undecided. Pula filed a notice of appeal against the August decision on 24 August and its chairman said it could refile, while ARM calls the claim unfounded and fabricated and welcomes the judgment.

The estimate depends heavily on SpaceX and Tesla holdings, so changes in share prices can move the headline figure even when Musk sells no assets. The ranking measures estimated net worth, not cash available to spend, and Forbes and Bloomberg can report different totals because their calculations and update times differ.
